Get to know your Drunken Stampers Designated Designer ~ Day 5

Happy FRIDAY!! We’re celebrating in the lounge today with introducing our last two designers in our Designated Designer Parade! Don’t forget our first challenge of the term starts tomorrow! Be sure to play with us for all challenges in September! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Alrighty, on to our chat! These gals have been fun in the lounge and I’m sure you will too! So pull up a chair and lets get to know Katie and KelliJo! WAHOO!

Katie ~ Team Flirtini

Katie’s Blog

http://www.katieskiff.typepad.com/

What is your drink of choice when stamping?

Usually ice tea, or water. On a rare occasion i’ll grab a fountain root beer.

What or who inspires you creatively?

Normally, I get my best ideas online from others. I enjoy seeing what others are creating and it always gives me great ideas.

How would you describe your style?

I think I am very clean with a side of shabby chic.

What are your top 5 stamping must haves that you could not live without?

Must have my Fiskars trimmer, a good pair of scissors, quality cardstock, Memento ink and my favorite stamp set (at that time! ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

And what is your fave project?

Currently it’s this card that I made for a tutorial. It just makes me happy seeing it, so I’ve got it up on shelf. I love the colors I used, and how the image turned out. It’s such a simple card, because I wanted to focus on the birds nests, but I love how it turned out.

KelliJo ~ Team Flirtini

KelliJo’s Blog

What is your drink of choice when stamping?

ALWAYS COFFEE!!!! Cold left over re warmed or fresh…. COFFEE

What or who inspires you creatively?

I get inspired by Great Sketches! I also find that really great descriptions of a challenge get my juices pumpin’ to create a masterpiece. If it sounds fun, I’m all over it, which is why I had to go to work, cuz lemme tell ya! That Kirby vacuum salesman made vacuuming sound FUN at the tune of $1500! hahahaha Oh Bless DH’s heart for letting me keep it!

How would you describe your style?

I am a pretty simple stamper I guess for lack of a better term. I CAN pile it on and sometimes do, however I like to keep things pretty basic if it weren’t for the layers I would be called a CAS stamper. As it is, I beat my own drum and have no name!

What are your top 5 stamping must haves that you could not live without?

Dies, Designer Paper, Killer Stamps, Memento Ink, Touch Twin Markers…and like all good drinks I will add the cherry on top…. BLING BABY!!!!!

And what is your fave project?

OOO! Tough One!!! I will have to go with one of my recent completions of the Dare To Get Dirty…. it’s my MFT Sketch for Jellybean74! I combined two great WTG images as I had been wanting to since they came out and KNEW they would ROCK together!!!!

Thank again for joining us today! Please visit Katie’s and KelliJo’s blog to check out their fabulous work and we’ll see you tomorrow on challenge day! Enjoy your Friday!

What or who inspires you creatively?

Other wonderful crafters. I love browsing scrapbooking and card-making blogs

How would you describe your style?

Not sure! It’s not CAS (can’t do it, I’ve tried and it’s HARD to do!) and I can’t do shabby chic! Somewhere in between lies my style!

What are your top 5 stamping must haves that you could not live without?

paper trimmer, inks, 2-sided tape, Copics and a drink!

And what is your fave project?

“FAB” card

Jackie ~ Team Mojito

http://stampingsister.blogspot.com/

What is your drink of choice when stamping?

Iced Tea or water, specifically sweet tea is possible ๐Ÿ™‚

What or who inspires you creatively?

Different things, sometimes it’s a color palette, other times it’s a pattern. I never know what will inspire me, sometimes it’s even the people around me.

How would you describe your style?

Usually my cards are along the CAS lines, but they also range to cute and girlie as well.

What are your top 5 stamping must haves that you could not live without?

Ribbon, Copics, my Cuttlebug, Rhinestones or Pearls, and patterned paper! I am constantly getting more patterned paper.

And what is your fave project?

Right now my favorite project is a card that I did for a sponsorship challenge with SSD. I used one of their steampunk images and I pulled out some dies I own and lots of red and black. I just love how the final product came out, she’s one of my favorites!

Thanks so much everyone for taking some time out in your day to visit with a couple of fabulous gals! We all look forward to seeing your great work this term.

Be sure to come back tomorrow to meet the last two Drunken Stampers who are just simply perfect to ring in your Friday!!

Suzanne ~ Team Mojito

Suzanne’s Blog

Time of day that youโ€™re most creative?

I’m a night owl, so I’d say I’m most creative late at night!

Favorite color to use in crafting?

While my favorite color is purple, I tend to use more pinks, reds and blues in my crafting.

Essential crafting tool?

My favorite crafting gadget is a brad tool that has a paper piercer on one side and a brad setter on the other. I’m also very fond of my retractable craft knife. I love fussy cutting, and it’s perfect for carving out those tiny pieces I can’t get to with scissors. (Oh, and my Copics…so glad I made the switch!)

Are you a neat or messy stamper?

Definitely messy. My work space is often cluttered, with one clear spot open for me to put things together. But, it’s organized chaos, because I can still find what I’m looking for in all the piles that I make!

Serendipity. What project/card have you made that turned out differently and much better than you had planned?

I’d have to say this card for my friend Sparkle’s stamp company’s anniversary blog hop.

I had to recolor the image because the card stock I used the first time wouldn’t hold the laser printer toner, which kept flaking off. I had picked the papers ahead of time, but really wasn’t sure how I’d use them all. It was also one of the first times I sewed on a card!

Barbara ~ Team Mojito

Barbara’s Blog

http://barbscreativecorner.blogspot.ca/

What is your drink of choice when stamping?

It depends on the time of day…..morning it is black coffee afternoon and evening I would have a diet coke or a hot chocolate.(sometimes I put mini marshmallow in it.

What or who inspires you creatively?

Checking out challenge blogs. I love a great sketch or a colour challenge. Sometimes I just see one of my stamps will inspire me.

How would you describe your style?

I am not really sure what my style is, perhaps “classic” not too CAS sometimes very girly.

What are your top 5 stamping must haves that you could not live without?

A good pair of scissors, my cuttlebug, my tonic cutters, my scorepals, my Prismacolour pecils.

And what is your fave project?

Thanks so much to Suzanne and Barbara for vising with us today and we look forward to seeing what you’ve got in store for us this term!

Two sleeps! Two sleeps away from the first challenge of the term! Please drop in tomorrow to visit with two more of our new designated designers!

Thanks for stopping in!

Get to know your Drunken Stampers Designated Designer ~ Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of our Drunken Stampers Designated Designer Parade!

Today we’re chatting in the lounge with Donna & Elizabeth who’ve stayed on with us from last term (we’re so glad that they did too!)

Donna ~ Team Flirtini

Donna’s Blog

http://yellowdoggreetings.blogspot.ca/

Time of day that youโ€™re most creative?

Strangely, although I am not a morning person…first thing in the morning!!
I often wake up on weekends and head straight into the craft room (I think I get some of my best ideas in my sleep!!)

Favorite color to use in crafting?

Is kraft a colour?? I am going to answer my own question and say YES!!
Kraft is so versatile, goes with everything, easy to embellish…sets off other colours beautifully.

Essential crafting tool? (other than the basics)

Punches, I love using punches for purposes other than which they were intended…using an owl punch to make penguins or ghosts, using the wing of a bird punch to make flower petals or a hamburger completely from punched parts ๐Ÿ™‚

Are you a neat or messy stamper?

Messy, messy, messy, messy…I usually have to spend at least 1/2 hour cleaning the craft shack after making something before I can move on to something else.

Serendipity. What project/card have you made that turned out differently and much better than you had planned

That’s an easy one for me, would have to be the card I made for the National Milk Chocolate / National Hamburger Day challenge in the last round. I REALLY struggled with that one…had NO idea what to make…then I started playing around with punches to make a hamburger, added some french fries, used a paper napkin for a picnic table cloth and VOILA…it turned out to be one of my favourite cards EVER!!

Elizabeth ~ Team Flirtini

Elizabeth’s Blog

http://www.learningthepapercraft.com/

Time of day that you’re most creative?

Mid-afternoon. By then I’ve had my coffee, I’ve eaten lunch, and I’m ready to create.

Favorite color to use in crafting?

Red. I love to add a bright pop of red colour on a card or a scrapbook page.

Essential crafting tool?

Tim Holtz’s Paper Distresser. I love the look of frayed, distressed edges, and I reach for this little tool all the time!

Are you a neat or messy stamper?

I’m a messy stamper, but when I’m in-between projects my crafting space is very neat. I have to clean up after every project though, or else my desk would be covered in glitter, paper scraps, and everything in between.

Serendipity. What project/card have you made that turned out differently and much better than you had planned?

A week before Mother’s Day this year, I was desperately craving summer weather, and I set out to make a summery card. I envisioned something beach-themed when I started, so I pulled out a piece of pretty pattern paper that had seashells on it, and got to work. And then, magically, the card morphed into something completely different. I very quickly tossed away my preconceived notion that I’d be creating a beach-themed card, and instead I went with something feminine and elegant. I had a stamp from Unity Stamp Co. that was calling my name, and I knew it would be perfect for this card.
I set out to create a summery card, and ended up with a Mother’s Day card that my mom absolutely loved.

Thanks ladies for spending some time with us in the lounge! We look forward to seeing what wonderful creations you have in store for us!

For our readers out there, thank for joining us today! Be sure to come back tomorrow and get to know 2 more Designers during our Designers Parade week!

Get to know your Drunken Stampers Designated Designer ~ Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of our parade of Drunken Stampers Designated Designers, where we’ll be featuring two of our Designers each day this week! Be sure to drop by to meet all our Designers! (no there won’t be a quiz after! lol)

First Up are Peg and Spike, we realized that all this time that we had never done this!

Peg ~ Team Flirtini

Time of day that youโ€™re most creative?

Probably morning once the kids are off to school. Sometimes I get a burst in the evening, but not often.

Favorite color to use in crafting? (except black & white)

Ohhh, that is hard… I guess my #1 go to is Kraft.

Essential crafting tool? (other than the basics)

I have a pair of super pointy tweezers that I love and use for so many things, placing pearls and bling to pulling twine through a button. I can’t craft without them!

Are you a neat or messy stamper?

I am a neat stamper, normally I keep my room organized and everything in it’s place, unlike the rest of my house! lol

Serendipity. What project/card have you made that turned out differently and much better than you had planned?

I am very much a Copic girl, and NOT coloring gives me the shakes! lol But I love how it turned out and worked perfectly for a monochromatic challenge I made it for.

Spike ~ Team Mojito

Time of day that youโ€™re most creative?

Evenings! I tend to be a night owl, that and deadlines for me approach faster in the evenings. I can be a last minute kind of gal! But that’s when we do our best work isn’t it??

Favorite color to use in crafting? (except black & white)

I used to LOVE using purple. It’s my fave colour all round! But I found that with card making my colour palette changes with my mood and my supplies. Although…(I’ll deny it if you mention it…) these days, I find myself reaching for brown quite a bit!

Essential crafting tool? (other than the basics)

Tweezers! I have a few pairs of tweezers from Be Creative that the ends go down to super sharp point. (Trust me, I have the wounds to prove it!) I use them for positioning rhinestones, layers, etc. I find myself always reaching for them.

Are you a neat or messy stamper?

Depends. If I’m colouring, I’ve usually got my images stamped ahead of time or I just stamp the one image so in this case…neat! If I’m doing a distress technique with multiple backgrounds, accents and images, I embrace the Tim Holtz style and go messy!

Serendipity. What project/card have you made that turned out differently and much better than you had planned?

This was for a very early Drunken Stamper’s challenge. I had the corset coloured and tried quite a few backgrounds until I stumbled upon this pre-embossed and inked water colour paper that was sitting in my scraps box. I was amazed how well it brought everything together!

Thanks for visiting with us today. Please drop by tomorrow to get to know a couple of returning Designated Designers.

Discover a Drunken Stampers Designer ~ Donna

Welcome Drunken Stamper’s fans to another installment on Getting to know your Designated Drunken Stampers Designer!

I just happened to bump into Donna from Yellow Dog Greetings on Twitterย  the other day so I could ask her the revealing Drunken Stamper questions that you’re all familiar with!

What is your drink of choice when stamping?

I am a total tea granny…I blame it on my British heritage.
I drink tea all day long, I usually have a Timmies steeped tea in the craft room with me, failing that I will make a latte in my Tassimo

What or who inspires you creatively?

Pinterest, there are so many fun, creative, crazy, different ideas there!
I also belong to a few different card making / scrapbooking forums, which are also a great source of inspiration.
Blogs of crafty people I know, and crafty people I don’t know…sometimes you come across the coolest stuff totally by accident!

How would you describe your style?

I am loving vintagey / steampunky styles lately…I am also totally addicted to making ATCs…I join about 4 swaps a month for ATCs

What are your top 5 stamping must haves that you could not live without?

Good scissors (for cutting and shredding)
Dimensionals
Bling (I am all about the bling)
Good quality cardstock
Paper piercer – for paper piercing, placing bling, getting the back off double sided sticky tape, poking people who come into the craft room uninvited {{kidding}}

And what is your fave project?

I love trying cards with different folds. I had never made a step card until recently, I was intimidated…they looked too complicated. Once I made one, I fell in love with them and have made a few side step and a few centre step cards.

Thanks Donna for vising with us this week be sure to drop by her blog, Yellow Dog Greetings to find out more about her and the other fabulous projects she’s doing!

distress inks, glue gun, foam tape, my die cut machine & dies, mulberry flowers

And what is your fave project?

My drink of choice when stamping is a diet Coke or Dr. Pepper…but I also drink various flavors of Crystal Light (LOVE the mojito flavor)!

What or who inspires you creatively?

I’m inspired by many different things…I often use sketches and look at stationery and home decor magazines to get ideas. I also like to figure out new ways to use my stamp images!

My Copic markers, Tsukineko Brilliance Graphite Black ink, 6×6 paper pads, great sentiment stamps, and quality cardstock!

And what is your fave project?

Love,

Get to know your Designated Drunken Stampers Designer ~ Elizabeth

Welcome to our Get to know your Designated Drunken Stampers Designer segment for this week.ย  She comes to us from Learning the [paper] craft. We caught up with Elizabeth in the Drunken Stampers lounge with drinks in hand and had a wonderful chat.

What is your drink of choice when stamping?

Tea, Earl Gray, hot. (I’m a Star Trek fan… can you tell?)

What or who inspires you creatively?

I find inspiration all around me, but these days I head straight to Pinterest when I’m in a bit of a creative slump. I love looking at the variety of photos showing everything from an urban landscape to a pretty fabric pattern. It doesn’t take long before I’m inspired to craft after looking through my Pinterest page.

How would you describe your style?

I would describe my style as elegant, romantic, and girly. I gravitate toward pastels a lot of the time, and I love using flowers, butterflies and lots of bling on my projects.

What are your top 5 stamping must haves that you could not live without?

In no particular order:

– A good pair of scissors
– Foam adhesive
– Stickles in a variety of colors
– Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
– Good quality cardstock

And what is your fave project?

To date, my favorite project is the card I made for my husband for Valentine’s Day this year. I admit, it’s pretty feminine – I guess it’s more a card for me than for him! – but I just adore the scrap of lace, the flower, and those hearts that look like sugar cookies.

Thanks for joining us today and getting to know a little bit more about Elizabeth. Please be sure to check out more of her work over at other home on the web Learning the [paper] craft where you’ll also find the link to follow her on Pinterest!

Donโ€™t forget! There is still time to play in Challenge #87 ~ I can see clearly now! Scroll down for the post or click Challenge #87

Thanks for spending time with us this week!

Love,

Get to know your Designated Drunken Stampers Designer ~ Chaitali

Welcome to our first segment of get to know your Designated Drunken Stampers designer! We’ll be featuring a Drunken Stamper’s designer every other week, opposite challenge weeks.
To figure who goes in what order, we had a few rounds of beer pong then quickly forgot why we were doing it. Afterwards, we then just drew straws! lol
Today we’re getting to know Chaitali from Cuts, Crops and Creativity! Just as she popped into the lounge this week, I had a chance to catch up with her!

What is your drink of choice when stamping?

Coffee!! I’m a huge coffee addict and its my drink of choice for pretty much everything including making shaker cards ๐Ÿ™‚

What or who inspires you creatively?

I follow a lot of blogs in the papercrafting community and its inspiring to see how much creativity everyone has! My husband and my friends are my other big source of inspiration for ideas.

How would you describe your style?

Quirky! I get bored with a single technique too easily so keep trying new techniques in my crafting. I love to make interactive and fun-folds cards the most!

What are your top 5 stamping must haves that you could not live without?

In random order:
(1) Silhouette Cameo
(2) Distress inks
(3) PTI cardstock for card base
(4) Dimensionals
(5) Tombow markers

And what is your fave project?

An interactive spinner card I made for a blog hop recently is my fave project currently. I designed the spinner track from scratch then cut it out on my Cameo. It was a lot of fun doing this project and everyone who has played with the card enjoyed it immensely.

Be sure to drop by Chaitali’s blog Cuts, Crops and Creativity to see more of her work, you’ll also find links to follow her on Pinterest and on google+ too!

Donโ€™t forget! There is still time to play in Challenge #86 ~ You’re a krafty one! Scroll down for the post or click Challenge #86.
